Each well-child visit comprises a complete examination including:
- evaluation of your child’s growth & development
- nutritional counseling
- Screening questionnaires (per age)
- Screening for Anemia
- Lead Poisoning
- Tuberculosis
- High Lipids
- Depression
- Autism
- Delayed Development
- Oral Dental Exam
- Child Health Education
- Vaccines when needed.
We encourage you to discuss any concerns at the time of your visit with your doctor.
Telephone Calls
We welcome telephone calls during regular office hours concerning your child’s health. All calls will be returned the same day they are received. If you feel the situation is urgent, please make that clear and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Please provide specific, detailed information to facilitate the best assessment of the situation. Remember, without the benefit of examining your child, it is not possible to make a diagnosis over the telephone. Also, it is necessary to call during business hours regarding appointment requests or cancellations, prescriptions refills, lab results, and referrals. Our answering service does not accept messages regarding these matters.
Sick Visits
Our policy is to see anyone requesting an appointment for a sick child on the same day if possible. Please try to call as early as you can during the office working hours for appointment.
If your child needs to be seen on an emergency basis, we will make every effort to take care of you as soon as possible. There may be times, however, when it is physically impossible to see all the patients who request to be seen on a given day. Our triage nurses can help you decide whether your child needs to be seen on that day.
After Regular Office Hours
We have Extended Evening Hours on several days each week, those are available to meet your urgent needs when your child can not wait for the next day. Evening and weekend Hours are available by appointment for sick visits only.
Our answering service is also available when the office is closed for the day. The answering service will evaluate your call and, depending on the situation, will either forward you to the Children’s Hospital or to contact the pediatrician.
Sub-Specialty and Hospital Care
If your child needs to be seen by a Pediatric Sub-Specialist, (such as pediatric cardiologist ...) we will not only refer you to the Sub-Specialist, but we will follow-up on the treatment and maintain contact with the him/her to stay abreast of your child’s care.
Parent and Patient Satisfaction
Customer service is essential to our practice success and we value your opinions and recommendations. We believe it is extremely important to provide excellent patient service. If you recently have an appointment at out office, please take a few moments and tell us about your visit.
